·         43 Experts Reveal Their No. 1 Daily Success Habit - https://www.developgoodhabits.com/daily-success-habit/

·       Topic – The 7 Habits of Highly Effective People – Stephen Covey – applying it to your job campaign.

·         Habit #1: Be Proactive®. Achieve extraordinary results by consistently executing their R & I (resourcefulness and initiative) to break through barriers.   My notes:  Accountability. You are in charge of how you react to situations and how you will respond.  Get over it (job loss)!!!  It’s time to move ahead.  Take control.  Pay attention to your Circle of Influence.  Only worry about the things that you can actually control.  The Circle of Concern are things that you can’t control.  Look internally – what is within your control.

·         Habit #2:  Begin With the End in Mind®. Develop an outcome-oriented mindset in every activity they engage in—projects, meetings, presentations, contributions, etc.  My notes:  It’s your vision. Focus ahead, not behind.  Stop looking in your rear view mirror.  Use imagination and passion to see where you want to go. Visualize it and then do it! Set goals and make them happen. What do you want to be and do?? Remember – you’re response-able.

·         Habit #3:  Put First Things First®. Eliminate energy and time-wasting tendencies by focusing and executing on the team’s wildly important goals with a weekly planning cadence.  My notes:  Prioritize the things that you need to go for your job campaign. Don’t allow other stuff to get in the way.  Say no when necessary.  This is life management. It’s a combination of habits 1 and 2.  See attachment.

·         Habit #4:  Think Win-Win®. Lead teams that are motivated to perform superbly through a shared expectation and accountability process.  My notes:  Cooperation not competition, mutual benefit, plenty for everyone, Networking!!

·         Habit #5:  Seek First to Understand, Then to Be Understood®. Create an atmosphere of helpful give-and-take by taking the time to fully understand issues, and give candid and accurate feedback.  My notes:  Communication skills, Listen intently, don’t be thinking about what you want to say. Focus on others and hear what they say.  Reiterate and confirm.  Or ask to elaborate, or how does it make them feel?

·         Habit #6:  Synergize®. Demonstrate innovative problem-solving skills by seeking out differences and new and better alternatives. My notesTeamwork, Be creative, inquisitive, think outside the box, solutions, options, brainstorming, value differences

·         Habit #7:  Sharpen the Saw®.  Tap into the highest and best contribution of everyone on a team by unlocking the total strength, passion, capability, and spirit of each individual.  My notes: Daily Renewal, Rejuvenation, Wellness, Lifelong learning, continuous improvement. Help others get what they want, work on expanding your skills/knowledge, professional growth.
